I’m Andrew Baxter, I'm in my early 30s and come from a big tradie family. My wife Stacey and I have two young children, Harvey and Eadie.
It’s only natural that I followed in my family’s footsteps and started out in the trade industry myself. It didn’t take me long to step out on my own. My story begins almost identically to Blake’s – I started my first business in air conditioning.
Like Blake, I jumped into the deep end with no real plan and no customers lined up. I simply hoped my years of experience in the industry would secure me work fast. As you can guess, that was not the case. It took over a year to work up my clientele and even longer until we started to turn a profit. Growing my trade business taught me a lot about the need for a constant stream of qualified leads to your business, day in and out. It taught me a lot about digital marketing.
These days, the phone rings off the hook. From humble beginnings 7 years ago, with less than $70,000 annual turnover and unable to pay myself a regular wage, to a business that now turns over 5 million dollars annually and has 14 full-time staff.
Digital marketing, lead generation and automation are things that I have really come to love over this journey. There is something about seeing the results of that finely tuned strategy you spent so many hours on, that I just can't explain. It's something that gets me up in the morning and excited about the day. I wake and ask myself, “Whose business are we able to help today?”
Blake and I saw a gap in the market and a need for an honest small business lead generation agency that can deliver results without all the fluff. From there our partnership and company Follow The Leads was founded.
